Who Is It For?

This workshop is primarily intended for researchers who are actively shaping or planning independent research directions, including group leaders (PIs), senior postdoctoral researchers, and scientists preparing for independent careers.
It is particularly suited for those interested in establishing new collaborations at the interface of chemistry and biology.

Programme

Focus of the presentations: The 10-minute "Flash Presentations" are specifically designed for group leaders to introduce their laboratory's core research, specialized equipment, and the specific areas where they seek or offer collaboration.

Pavla Perlíková

UCT Prague

Group leader specializing in medicinal and organic chemistry. Her research focuses on the design and synthesis of biologically active compounds. Her group works with natural product-inspired scaffolds and combines synthetic chemistry with rational design to develop new therapeutic strategies in oncology and parasitic diseases.

Ondřej Baszczyňski

Ondřej Baszczyňski

Charles University

Group leader in organic and medicinal chemistry. His research concentrates on the design and synthesis of self-immolative linkers for drug delivery and intelligent materials. His team works with antifungal compounds and combines synthetic chemistry with rational design to develop new compounds and their prodrugs for treating invasive fungal infections.

Jan Černý

Jan Černý

Charles University

Professor of cell biology and immunology at the Faculty of Science. His work spans molecular biology, genetics, and cytology, with a broad perspective on cellular systems. He is actively engaged in teaching and contributes to the development of cell biology and immunology through interdisciplinary dialogue and academic mentoring.
